Non si avvia la live

Ho un portatile Lenovo R61 sul quale volevo provare a installare Lorena ma non riesco nemmeno ad avviare la live, arriva a un certo punto, poi fa schermo nero e non va più avanti. Provando la modalità safe boot che è testuale, riscontro errori sul server X, in pratica dice che non ha caricato il server grafico, probabilmente è una incompatibilità hardware.

Ho provato varie distro in live e funzionano tutte, adesso c'è installato Ufficio Zero 11 XFCE a 64 bit che funziona regolarmente, penso che il problema sia dovuto alla base PcLinuxOS, comunque da UZ11 mi sono ricavato le info che spero possano servire per risalire alla possibile causa del problema:

Avevo pensato anch'io a un problema di kernel, però altre distro con kernel 6 partono in live, forse la versione di kernel è diversa pur essendo della famiglia 6+. Eventualmente sarebbe possibile inserire lo stesso kernel di UZ11 Cinnamon tra le opzioni di avvio di Lorena?

Il kernel su pclinuxos viene ricostruito ad hoc, nella sua ricostruzione ha come dipendenza gcc. Purtroppo credo che la versione di gcc usata per il kernel 5.15 sia molto diversa da quella attuale. Niente è impossibile, si potrebbe usare un alternate GCC oppure tentare di ricostruire un vecchio kernel con la versione GCC attuale, ma è probabilissimo che la ricostruzione fallirà. Il nostro intento di sfruttare i repository già presenti che portano il 99% dei pacchetti non avrebbe senso se dovessi ricostruire pacchetti così importanti che a loro volta richiederebbero ricostruzioni di altri pacchetti che sono dipendenti di questi, in un loop che già conosco e che non siamo disposti a fare. Perché ripetere il lavoro di altri quando sono così bravi a farlo? Mi spiace, Lorena è out for you con questo hardware

Capito, sarebbe uno sbattimento assurdo e non ha senso, invece avrebbe senso usare sempre un kernel 6 ma in una delle versioni che si avviano? Per esempio, la live di Big Linux ha un kernel 6 e si avvia regolarmente, se può servire potrei provare altre live con kernel 6 e annotarmi la versione esatta

Faccio prima a dirti quali kernel sono disponibili 6.1.134 e 6.6.87 ma non è detto che comunque funzioneranno, tutto dipende dal manutentore del pacchetto che magari ha tagliato via proprio la parte che interessa te

Grazie, vedo se trovo altre distro con lo stesso kernel e provo ad avviarle, per male che vada metterò UZ11 che funziona, anche se l'idea di installare la mia prima rolling mi stuzzicava parecchio
